Had the most witty, insightful and enjoyable conversation with Dr Harry Beattie. He is born in Assam, a place bordered by Nepal, Burma and Bangladesh. Born to a father that worked for the British government in the RSN company and mother that worked in the navy as a nurse.

He did one year of University in Aberdeen as he wasn't sure as to what speciality he would like to get into.
He looked at his hands and found them miniature enough to do dentistry and joined the University of Dundee Dental School.
His dental journey began at the University of dundee where he graduated in 1975.
He then worked at an NHS/private practice in Lochee for an year.
"The best thing I could do was keep in touch with my clinical tutors, Mr Hector". Dr Beattie then started working with his clinical tutor, Hector for over 4 years till 1979.
From 1979-1982 -His need for experience & travel outside Scotland led him on a job hunt in America. However, he ended up working for an American company in Dhahran (Oil capital of Saudi Arabia)
From 1982 , he came back to the UK for a year to 1983 but was drawn back to his life in the Middle East.
